Amy Johnson 95th Anniversary

St. Erth Station, Cornwall. Site Update.

The installation of the new lifts and bridge by BAM Nuttall at St. Erth Station, Cornwall is progressing well. The platform bridge link is now in place and it won’t be long before the first passengers are enjoying the new facilities.

Bristol Temple Meads Station, Site Update

Works to deliver a new pedestrian only entrance at Bristol Temple Meads Station for Network Rail are progressing well.

Finsbury Park Station new swing gate

Canopy refurbishement works have just completed by Capel C.S Ltd at Burnham-on-Crouch Station for Greater Anglia. The project, completed without the closure of the station included removing all old roof coverings and timber edge trims from the canopy, including adjoining lead flashings, fascias, ceiling soffit boards and substructure ceiling supports, then repairing and replacing them as required.

The canopy’s gutter was also replaced, and new roof coverings, facias and mouldings installed to return the canopy to its former glory.

Bristol Temple Meads Station, New Entrance

RKG are working alongside Network Rail and BAM Nuttall to deliver a new pedestrian only entrance at Bristol Temple Meads Station. The new entrance will link directly to the existing Isambard Kingdom Brunel designed Grade 1 Listed station and forms part of a wider strategy to redevelop the ‘Temple Quarter’ as part of a new campus for the University of Bristol. After a delicate planning process Approval has been granted and works have begun on site.

RKG 50th Anniversary

Robinson Kenning & Gallagher are pleased to announce its 50th anniversary (1971 -2021).

RKG were originally set up by Peter Robinson, Brian Kenning and Neil Gallagher in December 1971. In the capable hands of Peter Robinson, Derek Todd, Ray Hartley and Terry Ribbens the Practice grew from a solely Architectural base with the addition of Building Surveyors. RKG is now being led by its third generation of Partners; Kevin Stocker and Mark Powell and continues to enjoy success, working on new build and refurbishment projects across many sectors; transportation, industrial, commercial, health, historic buildings, ecclesiastical and residential.

Taplow Refurbishment COMPLETED

RKG are pleased to share photographs of the newly completed refurbishment of Taplow Station, Maidenhead. The project for MTR working with Contractors Capel (C.S) Ltd. involved a complete overhaul of the booking hall, ticket office, welfare facilities and passenger toilets. Additionally it included a new remote gateline/ticket facility on Platform 1.

Game Box Arrives

Given the somewhat strange world events of 2020, we at Robinson Kenning & Gallagher are certainly looking forward to 2021! We have a feeling 2021 is going to be many things that 2020 won’t be remembered for such as being fun and engaging. On that note, back in 2019, we were involved in a Planning ‘Change of Use’ Application with Southwark Council. Our Client (now known as ’Electric Gamebox’) were looking for new premises and a refurbished Arch Unit let by Arch Co. (83 Scoresby Street) caught their eye.

Amersham Station Update

RKG are pleased to share an update on our Amersham Station Step-Free Access Project with Bam-Nuttall and Taylor Woodrow for TFL. The lift towers and bridge assembled as modular units prior to installation minimising working at height and temporary works. All steelwork installed in 4 nights resulting in no disruption to Metropolitan or Chiltern Railway Services. Increasing accessibility across London Undergrounds Network.

Charity Go Karting Event 2019
