Having a good understanding of past building techniques and processes RKG can provide advice and designs on the development of existing and new works that affect or require Listed Building Approval. We have undertaken Listed Building applications for both Clients and Contractors to provide justification for temporary works, refurbishment and new build.
Heritage statements are provided to support the application and outline the proposed works but also identify the importance of the existing buildings’ features, the extent of the works that affect the Listed Structure and finishes, justification for the works including, where relevant, protection and monitoring requirements.
Robinson Kenning & Gallagher produced a Listed Building Application with WYG on behalf of our clients Network Rail. Network Rail is proposing to refurbish and upgrade Kings Cross Station. This Application related to the proposed renewals work and specifically to the Main Train Shed which comprises of two separate barrels roof separated by a central spine wall.
