High-Rise Mixed-Use Scheme in Croydon Town Centre for Eldon Housing Trust

Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were appointed by Eldon Housing Trust to prepare concept regeneration plans for a prominent site in the heart of Croydon town centre. The brief was to design a sustainable, high-density, mixed-use scheme that delivers considerable new community facilities. The proposed scheme included 9,700m² of ‘affordable’ apartments and over 2,500m² of office space, retail, cultural and leisure facilities.

Proposals outline a high-rise mixed-use scheme. Accommodation is split between an eighteen-storey tower and adjoining six-to nine-storey community block. Careful analysis of the site and the specific cultural requirements of Croydon helped inform the design solution with the aim of ensuring it has a real sense of place and identity as part of this exciting community.
