New Printing Press Works and Associated Offices for Newsfax International Ltd.
Robinson Kenning & Gallagher were appointed as Architects and Project Managers to design this new printing press building with associated offices and amenities for Newsfax International Ltd. The project was part of the Olympic relocation masterplan by the London Development Agency (LDA).
The new facility replicated the combined requirements of the four original sites. Located in the London 2012 ‘Olympic Zone’ all four sites previously owned by Newsfax International were earmarked for demolition. The new 2.06 hectare site located within Beam Reach Business Park replicated the combined facilities of these four sites.
At the time of the build, Newsfax International Ltd. printed more than seventy newspapers from around the world including UK based publications, The Financial Times and The Guardian. The project costs were £6.3 million with a further £30 million for the fit-out of printing presses and associated equipment. Impressively, the construction and fit-out were all completed in less than 12 months.
Project Value: £6.3m
