Dartford Station, Kent

New Major Interchange Station incorporating new Retail Spaces for Network Rail

Initial concept design through to Grip Stage 5 working drawings of a new major interchange Station in Dartford. New retail, passenger and Station staff administration facilities. Car parking provision was reconfigured to increase the number of spaces and improve disabled parking. Although works were designed under the NSIP programme, there was substantial interface and input from the local council. This, backed with government funding, drove the project towards a whole new Station design.

Extensive works included: demolition of the main station building, two adjacent staff accommodation blocks and the erection of a new three-storey Station building. The latter incorporating all Station staff accommodation, BTP offices and retail areas, and refurbishment of the existing footbridge stair and DDA passenger lift.

Project Value: £10m
